Where do you get your inspiration from?

There is a video, “5 Minutes For the Next Fifty Years of Your Life”, that I watch two to three times a week.  It helps keep things in perspective for me.

“Life is not easy.  It is not. Don’t try to make it that way.  Life’s not fair, it never was, it isn’t now, and it won’t ever be. So, the question that we have to ask ourselves is what success is to us, what success is to you.  Continue to ask yourself that question.  Your answer may change over time and that’s fine.  But do yourself this favor: Whatever your answer is, don’t choose anything that will jeopardize your soul. Be brave, take the hill, but first answer that question. “What’s my hill?”  Prioritize who you are, who you want to be, and don’t spend time with anything that antagonizes your character.  Where you are NOT is just as important as where you are.  Defining ourselves by what we are NOT is the first step that leads us to knowing who we truly are.  We’re going to make mistakes. We’ve got to own them; then we have to make amends and move on. Turn the page, get off the ride…you are the author of the book of your life.”

Choices, Chances, and Changes.

You must make a choice to take a chance, or your life will never change.

Success is no accident.  It’s hard work, perseverance, continuous learning, and sacrificing.

What is the biggest life lesson you have learned?

In today’s world, change is the only constant.  You must hold on tight and embrace the ups and downs of life.  Living life in a comfort zone is easy, which is why it is so hard to leave it.  But, if you want to become more, you need to dive headfirst into the world and do something new.  Your whole perspective will change. Take the leap.

Outside of work, what defines you as a person?

My family is the most important and precious gift of my life.  They are my motivation to be the best version of myself every day. The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.
