The #1 Tool You Need to Win the War on Talent

March 9, 2016

Imagine, you’re sitting at your desk, when you receive a LinkedIn message from a recruiter with an “exciting new job opportunity”. You’ve been in your job with your current company for quite some time and enjoy what you do, but are looking for a little more challenge. A few weeks back, you had sent out a couple inquiries to potential new employers and it looks like you’re already on your way to a new job!

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in the United States decreased in 2015 versus 2014. Recruiters are busy hiring both active and passive candidates as the war for attracting and retaining top talent continues to wage. We can debate on the many factors that contributed to this statistic, but for me, this means one thing…more and more corporations are investing in the right Talent Management systems for their business.

Working in the HR technology consulting space with HRchitect, we often speak to many recruiters about their job function and role. While many don’t realize it, Talent Acquisition or Recruitment is a critical HR function. This is evidenced by the sheer dollar amount attributed to the staffing services industry, which the American Staffing Association estimates at $122 billion dollars.

Let’s face it – companies are only as successful as the people they hire and recruiters will only be as effective as the tools they are given to do their jobs. As a recruiter, the number one tool needed to help win the war on talent is your talent management system. But not just any talent management system – the system needs to be the right fit for your organization’s needs both, now and in the future.

Many companies invest in various HR technologies over the years in their journey to find the right recruiting software to help with the vital function of recruiting. Some companies overlook the fact that all that may be needed is some optimization of their current system, while others may be using a system that is behind the times and would benefit from selecting and implementing a new Talent Management System.

As we delve into another year with full speed, make sure that your company takes advantage of the many services out there that provide assistance into finding the right Talent Management system to help your company attract and retain talent.

Remember, companies like HRchitect are here to help you find which recruiting system is best for your unique business needs and challenges which can help keep open positions at your company to a minimum and keep the United States unemployment rate on a decline for yet another year.
