9 LinkedIn Talent Product Updates You Need to Know

The start of a new decade is right around the corner, and with it will come a fresh set of exciting opportunities and hiring challenges for talent acquisition professionals. To help you get that competitive edge for 2020 and beyond, LinkedIn has been busy updating our products across the talent lifecycle so you can boost your team’s impact, build data-driven strategies, and recruit and retain the best candidates.

Make sure you’re taking advantage of all these new updates — including ways to improve efficiency and leverage your talent pipeline — by checking out the list below of our top nine product enhancements of 2019.

1. LinkedIn Talent Insights gives you access to a wealth of talent market data

LinkedIn Talent Insights (LTI) is an analytics product that provides actionable, on-demand access to talent market data so you can make smarter and more effective hiring decisions. Since the product’s original launch in September 2018, we’ve made LTI even more comprehensive and jam-packed with the data you need — including location insights powered by Bing Maps Geodata, helping you get granular at even the local level to find where the top candidates are located. You can also better validate your search by seeing the profiles and jobs that make up your results, and now with global gender diversity data, explore gender balance at your organization and compare how it fares with other companies in your industry.

The product is also now integrated with LinkedIn Recruiter, which allows you to transform your sourcing strategies and create an immediate impact. As a Talent Insights and LinkedIn Recruiter customer, you’ll now be able to seamlessly access key market data for your talent pool embedded right within the Recruiter workflow. Data shows that recruiters using Talent Insights reach out to candidates in newer companies 77% more than those that don't. Also, users of Talent Insights see a 13.5% lift in candidate InMail response rates. Customers also report filling roles much faster, thereby reducing time to hire — and giving talent professionals an edge to plan and recruit more strategically.

2. New Recruiter and Jobs helps you improve efficiency, collaborate more easily, and generate smarter candidate search results

This year, we launched more than 15 additional features in New Recruiter and Jobs, homing in on key enhancements to make you more productive and collaborative. We’ve added features to provide you with smarter and faster results, including the ability to add screening questions to jobs, send candidate rejection messages in bulk with only a few simple clicks, review candidate profiles without having to open multiple new tabs, and discuss potential candidates with your teammates in conversation threads.

Also, with every action you take in New Recruiter and Jobs (including saving and hiding profiles), the product learns more about your needs and uses our AI and machine learning technologies to automatically make adjustments for your future searches.

3. LinkedIn Talent Hub lets you source, manage, and hire — all in the same platform

LinkedIn Talent Hub, one of our newly launched products, brings LinkedIn Recruiter and Jobs together into a new Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Talent Hub is designed to serve the needs of customers with less than 1000 employees, letting users source, manage, and hire all in one platform. From this platform, you’ll be able to source and manage candidates from various pipelines, create and manage projects in a single view, and open requisitions. You'll also be able to schedule, conduct and provide feedback on interviews as well as extend offers, thereby eliminating the perception of "applicant black holes" and accelerate time to hire.

Talent Hub gives a complete picture of your talent pool so you can collaborate with your hiring team and align on the right strategy, all while keeping a pulse on your overall process to identify areas that need to be improved.

4. Recruiter System Connect integrates your ATS with LinkedIn Recruiter to get everything you need in one time-saving workflow

For those of you who have already invested in an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), we’ve created a deeper integration between our ATS partners and LinkedIn Recruiter to improve workflow and efficiency through Recruiter System Connect (RSC). RSC saves time and increases efficiency by allowing teams to access real-time candidate data without needing to switch between systems. You can also collaborate more efficiently, as recruiters are able to view past interactions from team members with specific candidates. This will help avoid those duplicate outreach efforts that frustrate potential hires and drag down the overall candidate experience.

5. Skill Assessments lets you pinpoint which candidates are a good match on the basis of proven skills

We recently introduced Skill Assessments as another way for LinkedIn members to showcase their qualifications and signal they are right for a role. Early findings show that passing just one Skill Assessment makes an applicant 50% more likely to get hired.

For the hiring professional, this means you can quickly and reliably pinpoint candidates that have the skills you’re looking for. You can even suggest a candidate take an assessment when they apply for a position, and you’ll receive a notification when they pass.

6. Content Suggestions lets you easily find content and topics to leverage your employer branding strategy

You already have so much to do in your day-to-day, so creating content to share on your Pages can seem like a daunting task. You can now cross that off your to-do list with our new Content Suggestions tab. This enhancement gives you recommendations of relevant and informative content to share with your audience — all based on topics that you’re followers are already engaging with.

7. Trending Employee Content helps boost engagement on your Career Page

In addition to finding and sharing the content your audience is most interested in, we’ve now automated the employer brand curation experience to help job-seekers understand what your company’s employees are doing, feeling, and saying. Trending Employee Content is a new module in the Life page (within LinkedIn Career Pages) which takes the stress out of content creation by aggregating trending employee-generated posts associated with your choice of a company hashtag. With minimal effort, this feature allows your employer brand to shine with the voices of your company’s own employees.

8. Pipeline Builder Analytics lets you be the master of your own ROI reporting

If you’re looking to apply more results-based metrics to your hiring strategies, Pipeline Builder Analytics may be a solution. This new feature allows you to easily view Pipeline Builder campaign return on investment (ROI) in real-time through your “Analytics” tab within the Page Admin view. Instead of being reliant on LinkedIn Account teams to run Pipeline Builder downstream reports, admins on your team will be able to track Pipeline Builder leads over time, lead InMail response rates, lead demographics, and more.

9. Campaign Manager’s new metrics can help you better measure the success of your Pipeline Builder Campaigns

Explore the three new metrics available in Campaign Manager for talent leads campaigns. 1) “Talent Leads” reveals the number of people who become leads after clicking on your ad; 2) “Talent Lead Rate” shows you how often someone who clicks on your ad submits their information to your Pipeline Builder page; and 3) “Cost per Talent Lead Rate” displays how much you’re paying to get a single lead.

These new metrics will allow you to better optimize your campaigns via A/B testing — including testing targeting and bidding models — and measure ROI to make more data-driven decisions.

As we close out 2019, we are already working on some big product enhancements aimed at helping you attract, retain and develop top talent in 2020. We can't wait to share those with you throughout next year. Happy New Year!
