Welcome to our first installment of Fresh Tech Fridays! The vast majority of the people who read our blog are self described "HR Tech Nerds" who want to stay on top of the latest in our industry.

So, the first Friday of the month we'll be featuring totally new companies to put on your radar, along with new releases from some of the best HR software vendors out there.

In no particular order, here's this month crop of Fresh Tech:

Paradox Virtual Hiring Events: Handshakes and Hellos From The Comfort Of Your Desk

Talent teams are facing new challenges as hiring virtually has become the current expectation. Paradox launched an enhanced version of Virtual Hiring Events this Spring. With the candidate and recruiter experience in mind, Paradox ditched forms and logins. Your candidates expect simpler, faster, form-free experiences and with Olivia, an AI recruiting assistant managing the experience, that is what they get. Olivia handles registration, reminders, and follow-ups via mobile chat - so candidates don’t need a password, login, or complicated sign-up.
Olivia greets every candidate and immediately hands them off to your recruiters. The recruiting team and hiring managers can handle multiple chats at once and incorporate either chat or video for a light, or highly engaging experience. Since teams may need an all-hands-on-deck approach to hiring events there are no limits to the number of people that can help with each event. Paradox virtual hiring events have the flexibility to be set up as open-house, on-demand, or real-time events. The campus and events module includes online campus planning, results tracking, and a robust budgeting platform that enables you and your team to take your entire campus recruiting model online. Learn how you can set up an event within seconds, today

VidCruiter Online Proctoring

VidCruiter Online Proctoring
If a job applicant cheats on a test and someone on the hiring team sees it, it's unlikely they'll get an employment offer. This action proves the candidate lacks integrity and can't be trusted. But how can we monitor candidates taking tests at a distance?

VidCruiter's supervised pre-employment tests give HR professionals confidence that they've hired someone who's a good fit for the position. Online proctoring allows hiring teams to evaluate candidates' skills while simultaneously understanding more about their demeanor and reactions to test questions through video. Expose unfit candidates through video proctoring.

CodeSubmit — A developer-first engineering culture starts with your hiring process

CodeSubmit
CodeSubmit is more than just a developer assessment tool — it’s the best way to find the next member of your engineering team.
Unlike the standard algorithmic quizzes which only test for limited computer science-specific competencies, CodeSubmit assignments get to the core of your candidate’s skill set. Our library assignments resemble real on-the-job tasks and are scored based on signal-generating criteria such as assignment completeness, code readability, code elegance, and documentation. If you're already using take-home assignments, then our suite of awesome features makes it super easy to upload that assignment and start finding a signal in the noise.
Hiring teams that use CodeSubmit are more productive and better organized. They communicate better internally and with their candidates, so they require fewer check-ins. Their technical hiring process is far more efficient than ever before. And their candidate experience metrics are through the roof, leaving a lasting positive impression for all candidates, whether they’re hired or not.
Give CodeSubmit a try and see why our customers <3 us.

Eightfold's Talent Exchange

Eightfold Talent Exchange
The Talent Exchange is providing hope for people in need of jobs by quickly matching them with companies hiring, using AI. A number of big-name corporations are involved, including Pizza Hut, Starbucks, United Airlines, Hertz, Walgreens, Mondelez, Walmart, Macy’s, and Lowe’s. McKinsey is also a key supporter. The goal is to take what was of course a terrible situation for so many and give them the hope of a great opportunity they perhaps hadn’t even thought of. Companies reducing their workforces load up to the system a list of information on their furloughed or laid-off employees. Organizations that are hiring get a ranked list of candidates, available to work now. AI recommends candidates based on how well they fit in a role, with transparency as to why an individual is recommended. Managers can make offers quickly. Companies doing the furloughing can use a dashboard to keep track of where their employees ended up, and potentially reconnect with them in a couple of months to bring them back.
