5_Millennial_Candidate_Experiences.jpgMuch is being written about millennial candidates these days—and for good reason. Millennials represent three-quarters of active job seekers and will comprise 50% of the workforce by 2020.

With CEO outlook for revenue growth exceptionally high and unemployment at its lowest level in six years, creating a millennial-friendly candidate experience has become a mission critical priority.

Are millennials really different than other generations?

In early 2017, we released a survey report that revealed significant differences between millennials and baby boomers. When asked about the importance of RECOGNITION in the pre-hiring process, 81% of millennials said it was either important or very important, compared with 39% of baby boomers. An equally significant gap exists regarding the perceived importance of SOCIAL INTERACTION during the pre-hiring process, with 81% of millennials indicating this was important or very important, compared with only 32% of baby boomers.

Understanding the millennial mindset. To gain greater insight into these differences, we conducted one-on-one interviews with millennials who had recently accepted a new job. The profiles featured in our latest eBook, Five Millennials Critique Their Recent Candidate Experiences, provide important insights into how employers, from a start-up to a leading global brand, are successfully creating more personalized candidate experiences to compete more effectively in today’s talent-driven economy.
