This week, thanks to my Tennessee webmaster, Marcus Crutcher from wearehatchery.com, whom I have been with for many years, I got to thinking about what we have been hatching since COVID-19 and social distancing became household words.

Truth is, most of us have been hatching a lot of different things in this new era I am happy to report that my dear husband that many of you know hatched a pacemaker. He is truly a bionic man and I am grateful to the heart doctors and Eisenhower medical center, as well as all the dear relatives and friends who kept Mr Wadas in their heart! ❤️

My family and I have hatched daily FaceTime calls and thou I miss my grandchildren dearly, I am grateful that they are teaching me how to make emojis on my phone. Their smiles sparkle my days.

Many of us have hatched new ways of communications and delivering treatment. Zoom has become a household word and a major platform for blended care as well as interventions.

I personally have hatched a few new ways of being from working on a book (more to be revealed later) to taking some courses in sex addiction, to updating my website and teaching seminars across the country. Along the way the University of Wisconsin and I are hatching a new relationship and I will be offering some continuing education classes come fall.

I am excited about how I and a talented team have been able to help families across the country. Interventions (i.e. invitations to change) are alive and well in this environment. And many a family is hatching ways to bring health and wellness into their lives. Recovery is definitely a beautiful thing!

I love how collegues across the country are hatching new delivery systems and we are seeing each other more often than the occasional conferences. A few are even on their way to being parents – Jenny and Adam Finley, Heather Henrteig and Devon Day and Candice Presser is enjoying her new baby. Life goes on in the midst of this pandemic. Birthdays, graduations, marriages, divorces, deaths, etc.

Like you I have hatched a myriad of emotions from fear to anger to sadness to laughter and joy in this strange time. Today, I even stay still long enough to watch birds build a nest in our back yard  and am waiting somewhat impatiently for their eggs to hatch.

I guess if I am learning anything in this moment in time it is to savor the moment and enjoy time spent incubating new ideas and actions. As Glasser said,

The Key to everything is Patience. You get the chicken by Hatching The Egg, Not by Smashing it

So I invite each and everyone of beautiful you to share what you are Hatching today??

Hatch of the day from Shayne Anderson Interventionist, Recovery Coach, actor, writer, father, friend, all around good guy.

“If you have a problem with a member of your family or friend who is negative, begin by writing a list of all the things you appreciate about that person. Remember to include gratitude to them for giving you a great desire for positivity in your life; because that is a gift they are giving you. As you focus with all of your strength on appreciation, you will not only reduce your exposure to the negativity, but at the same time you will be attracting positive people into your life.”
