Cadigan adds that digitization enabled HR to address pandemic-driven changes with greater agility and effectiveness. Large HCM SaaS solution providers, for example, quickly added functionality to comply with new payroll legislation, track COVID cases, obtain feedback from employees or support return-to-work management. And, she adds, the use HR analytics has gained significant momentum.

“As we come out of a business climate filled with health and economic challenges … the need for better, smarter and faster decisions has never been more important,” Cadigan says.

Technology is helping employers make those decisions around topics such as wellness, compliance, data analytics, learning and more. With that as context, HRE checked out tools in these areas that saw strong pandemic-driven growth during 2020. The following five tools are just a handful of the promising solutions primed to help employers meet the evolving needs of their workforces through the end of the pandemic and beyond.
