Sterling Celebrates Pride Month

Celebrating Pride Month

Every June, cities across the United States – and around the world, adorn their streets with rainbow flags in support of Pride Month for the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride is a time where people of all walks of life come together to reflect, celebrate and honor the LGBTQIA+ community through parades, festivals and advocacy.

Pride Month:

During the month of June, Sterling’s own social media profiles showcase a rainbow logo and PRIDE messaging in support of our LGBTQIA+ employees and the community at large. This may seem like a small gesture to some, but the impact of acceptance is limitless.

However, we acknowledge that embracing equality shouldn’t be limited to one month a year. According to the 2018 Corporate Equality Index by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, “…clearly enumerated non-discrimination protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity are essential to LGBTQ workforce equity and inclusion. These policies help to ensure: equal opportunity for all employees, diverse talent acquisition and retention for broader economic growth, and keeping the employer apace with changing legal and public opinion landscapes.”

Robust Representation:

Simply put, representation matters, and Sterling couldn’t agree more. Instead of flying the rainbow flag once a year, we choose to “fly our flag” year-round – from rainbow logos in June to corporate policies that contain inclusive language for Parental Leave, Bereavement, Anti-Harassment, and Anti-Sexual Harassment.

One of our core values at Sterling is It’s All About People. We care deeply for our clients and colleagues alike and we work together toward a common goal as a diverse workforce. Placing people first is at the core of our culture and we thank you for taking the time to celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community; not only in the month of June but every day.
