Talent leadership

Join Us for a Global Event Exploring How Talent Leaders Will Shape the New World of Work

The world of work has undergone some significant shifts over the past year, and things are very much still in flux. Talent professionals will play a critical role in shaping what the future of work looks like at their companies — from putting strategies in place to support diversity, inclusion, and belonging to finding long-term solutions around flexible work, upskilling, and skills-based hiring.

To help you on this journey, LinkedIn is hosting Forward, a global virtual event taking place on LinkedIn Live on March 30, 2021.

Hosted by CNN analyst turned TV show host Mel Robbins and New York Times No. 1–bestselling author Jay Shetty, this 90-minute event will bring together experts from around the globe to help you plot the path forward. The virtual gathering will include an informative segment on workforce transformation and reimagining hiring practices, led by Teuila Hanson, senior VP and chief people officer at LinkedIn, and a deep-dive into economic data and insights from LinkedIn’s chief economist Karin Kimbrough. The event will also feature panels exploring actionable strategies you can use to steer your company successfully into the new world of work, led by talent and business leaders from across countless industries.

Diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity

The events of 2020 saw conversations around racism, inequality, and discrimination playing out on the global stage. As a result, corporate diversity, belonging, and inclusion efforts were placed under a microscope, with many companies pledging to do better moving forward. But determining which steps will have the most meaningful impact can be challenging.

To help you refine your strategy, Dr. Shirley Davis, CEO at SDS Global Enterprises, and Fiona Vines, head of inclusion & diversity and workforce transition at BHP, will be among the expert speakers discussing how DIBs initiatives have evolved over the past year. They’ll also explore ways that talent leaders can drive actionable change — at their own organizations and in the wider talent community.

Flexible and remote work

Now that companies have seen firsthand that remote work can be successful, many are open to the idea of employees having more flexible work options in the long term.

To discuss the opportunities and challenges that come with this, we’ll be joined by a panel of future-looking leaders, including Dom Price, a work futurist at Atlassian, and Leena Nair, CHRO at Unilever. They’ll also share what talent leaders should consider when planning for more flexible work environments, including the potential impact on culture, productivity, and diversity.

Internal mobility and skills-based hiring

Forced to pause or slow down hiring last year, many companies had to find new ways to fill skills gaps within their organizations. This led to a renewed interest in reskilling and upskilling, as well as a focus on how to accurately evaluate candidates’ skills in the hiring process.

Jonathan Reyes, director of talent acquisition operations at Uber, and Ramcess Jean-Louis, global chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer at Verizon Media, will be among the panel exploring how you can incorporate skills-based hiring and internal mobility into your talent strategy. They’ll cover steps you can take to evaluate both internal and external talent, including advice around building or buying skills-based hiring assessments.
