At Collage, we believe that the Canadian workplace is fundamentally changing. From the death of the 9-to-5 to the rise of Chief Happiness Officers, work just isn’t what it used to be.

Some of these challenges aren’t exactly new. Others, however, would have been hard to imagine just a few years ago: Is AI creating or threatening new jobs? What does the gig economy mean for recruiters? And is paw-rental leave really a thing?

Whether HR and business leaders are ready or not, Canadian employment needs, expectations, and even core standards are changing. In order to thrive, companies of all sizes need to stay informed, inspired, and in-charge of their people, culture, and business strategies.

Today, we’re unveiling the Collage Magazine, an online resource created for HR and business leaders to discover and discuss the issues that matter most to the modern Canadian workplace.

It is also a space to highlight and celebrate those who are a part of this change in ways big and small. We’ve made it a part of our mission to interview and learn from the most creative, passionate, and diverse changemakers in the Canadian HR and business fields, ranging from small business owners to HR tech experts and workplace health professionals.

In fact, our very first interview is with the whip-smart and energetic Cerys Cook, an HR veteran of nearly 20 years. Now the Director of People and Culture at The PUR Company, she shares how she’s made her career as a small business builder and what it takes to build an HR legacy. Read the full story in our interviews section.

By definition, a Collage is a combination or collection of various things. We recognize that great people management and leadership requires various types of support, skills, resources, and dedication. We hope to provide all of that and more every single week.
