OFCCP Requests Extension...Last week, OFCCP submitted a request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to extend the collection of documents from Federal Contractors under Section 503 and the Vietnam Era Readjustment Act. The agency requested an extension of the three-year period for collecting documents under the Paperwork Reduction Act with no changes to the existing recordkeeping or third-party collection requirements.

The agency has shortened the IWD form to one page and allows for the employer to modify the bottom section of the form for internal reporting purposes. The proposed self-identification form is available here and public comments on the IWD form can be submitted here through March 2, 2020.

Since the agency’s current approval for collection of these documents expired on January 31, 2020, the current form is automatically extended on a month by month basis until OMB acts on the renewal request. However, OFCCP indicated contractors should continue using the existing form until the new one is available.

In the meantime, contractors should notify HRIS and ATS partners that an update to the form is expected to help prepare for the change. Berkshire will monitor this request and will notify clients when OMB approval is granted, and the new form should be used.
