We kicked off the Empower 2019 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. A full day of Pre-Conference activity included our annual App-a-thon competition and Quickbase Fundamentals Training.
The Quickbase App-a-thon
This year marks the fourth annual Quickbase App-a-thon. Competition was fierce a for the coveted $5000 grand prize and bragging rights. Teams of 3-4 participants received the use case this morning and competed for just over six hours to build the best app. Judging took place this afternoon and the top three teams advance to the final round on Tuesday evening.
Join us for round two of judging – in the Exhibit Hall on Tuesday evening – to meet the teams and see the apps they built. Each team will have 15 minutes in the Demo Theater to present in front of a panel of judges.
Winners will be announced at the Offsite Party at The Moore Building on Wednesday! The first place team will win the grand prize of $5000, and second and third won’t go home empty handed – they’ll receive $3000 and $2000, respectively. Stay tuned!
Quickbase Fundamentals Training
Our team of famed Customer Trainers – Freddie Sabbs, Benjamin Buday, and Eliza Little – helped new Quickbase users become better and more confident builders today. In this full day training session, participants focused on the basic building blocks of an app – forms, tables, reports and data – and planning best practices. After training, everyone headed to the Kick-Off Party in the Exhibit Hall to get fired up for the next two and a half days of education and inspiration! Get ready to make a significant impact with Quickbase when you leave the conference!

A Hora Loca dancing troupe led the way into the Kick-off Party with a high energy performance full of Miami flair! See the video here.
Attendees got a first glimpse of the Heroes Experience and Quickbase Concierge center, offering fun ways to engage with us and help for making the most of the conference. Some of the fun includes a coloring wall, temporary tattoo parlor, and roving caricaturist. One can’t miss activity is the Empower 2019 Scavenger Hunt – find Fabio the Flamingo throughout the conference. Grand prize is an all-expenses paid trip to Empower 2020!
