    I’m in the UK sadly – but then realized you have an audiobook :) (my preferred method of reading) so that’s one credit used!

    Also really pleased that you read it yourself. I always love it when nonfiction writers do that.

      I just bought it on Kindle from Romania – it was a bit more expensive due to VAT, but still a great deal!

      Right now it’s just in the U.S. (That’s because it’s a promotion being run by my publisher, and I have a separate publisher in the UK.)

    Warning about the Barnes and Noble option – this is only for the e-book Nook version, and Microsoft will be shutting down the Nook program and TAKING BACK THE BOOKS as of July 1. (You will get refunds, but still.)

      Whoa, I had no idea. Googling this a bit though doesn’t look like this about Nook, but rather Microsoft’s own book program (which is separate from Nook). It does look like Nook isn’t doing well, but I haven’t seen anything about them taking back people’s books!

      Amazon did that before they came out with the Kindle. I used to buy all my e-books there because you could download them more than once (which was nice if your hard drive died), and some places wouldn’t do that. Then one day, they were all gone and had deleted all your past purchases. I was so peeved. Not even sure if they gave you a warning, but I was a teenager, so maybe just didn’t see it.

        I can confirm that, if I click Nick’s link, I get the yellow cover and the $8 price, but if I click your link I get the red cover and the sale price ($2.37 for me).

        Okay, I’ve checked with my publisher and they’ve confirmed it’s $1.99 in all U.S. outlets. If you’re in the U.S. and not seeing that, let me know! (Screenshots would be great.)

    I bought this on Kindle and my roommate kept asking me to read it out loud so she could type the scripts into emails to her team (they have issues). I made her buy her own.

    I’m in Canada if that matters, also an e-reader noob which is why I don’t know/understand these things!

      You can get a free Kindle app for your mobile device or your computer that will let you read kindle books.

        Ditto to this. Only difference I’ve found is that it’s a smaller screen — and it’s one less device to keep charged. (Do remember to set it to wifi-update only before you download a 5-book volume on mobile data. Ouch.)

    Congrats Allison,

    I love this blog. I always thought it was me with dealing with horrible bosses until I saw your blog. The two best posts was the one where it was mandatory to be a kidney donor and other great one was the boss who expected their employees to do invasive therapy sessions twice a day.

    Allison, I bought a copy of your ebook about job hunting via a promo on this website about a year ago. The book never arrived and I don’t know what went wrong. I had recently gotten pregnant and in the excitement of it all failed to follow up promptly. While I’m happy to donate the amount to your endeavors, I would in fact like to acquire a copy of the book. Any advice? Thank you.

    I was excited to get the book but then it’s kindle (proprietary), nook (proprietary) or apple book (proprietary). Is there no way to get a standard epub version? I have an ebook app already, and I don’t intend to use one per format. And yes I could use calibre but it’s never perfect and intellectually not satisfying.

    Yippy! Although not in the US, I do have a US Amazon account and was fortunately not too late to nab this (Monday lunchtime here).

    I enjoy reading books on the Kindle Cloud Reader when it’s quiet at work. People might mistake me for working. ;)
