Five for Friday: Culture of feedback

This week's Five for Friday looks at why a culture of feedback is something your organization should be striving for—and how to go about making it happen.

It’s difficult to understate the importance of creating a culture where feedback is welcome, listened to, and acted upon. It impacts employee experience, engagement, loyalty, and practically every other facet of your organization.

But what do I mean by a culture of feedback? A culture of feedback is an organizational culture whose values speak to empowerment, transparency, and an open flow of information, where employee feedback underpins every level of the business. In other words, it's all about giving your people a voice and taking what they say seriously.

This week’s Five for Friday articles explain the impact and benefits of a company culture that emphasizes and encourages feedback.

1. Jeff Diana, Chief People Officer @Atlassian, explains why a culture of feedback matters and what it takes to create one.

2. Hilary Wright lists off ten key ways to nurture a culture of feedback in your people.

3. @Molliewest and Kate McCoubrey Judson are already convinced about the benefits of a feedback-focused culture. That’s why they explain how to make it tangible.

4. Writing in @Inc, Sam Hodges sets it straight: a culture of feedback starts at the top.

5. A practical guide written by yours truly on how to give and receive constructive feedback.
