Quest Software, Quantum Tie On VMware Backup

Aliso Viejo-based Quest Software said Thursday that it has certified its vRanger VMware backup software with Quantum. According to Quest, its VMware backup software now works with Quantum's DXi Series deduplication appliances. Quantum's appliances are used to reduce network traffic over WaN links; Quest siad the move will help its customer automate backups across those WANs, reducing the amount of bandwidth needed for those backups.
