sourcecon.gifIn just a few short weeks, SourceCon Fall 2016 kicks off in beautiful Anaheim, California. SourceCon is the year’s single biggest event dedicated to sourcing and, if you haven’t registered yet, you still can.

Regardless of the opportunity to learn and mingle with some of the best people in talent acquisition, there are few better places than Anaheim to spend time in late September. A city known for its many attractions, Anaheim is blessed with near perfect weather, numerous award-winning restaurants and enough activities to keep you entertained.

Still, with so much possibility, it can be a challenge to figure out what’s up your alley - whether you’re looking for spots nearby to zone in and catch up on emails, to meet with a colleague in town, or to make the most of your free time. We’ll give you some tips to make sure you get the most out of your time in Anaheim.

Places to eat:

If you want to avoid the touristy stuff in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, check out these spots:

AnaheimWhiteHouseFINAL.jpgThe Anaheim White House Restaurant for upscale Italian.

TheRANCHFINAL.jpg

The Ranch Restaurant for a stellar steak.

Or The Pizza Press for Anaheim’s best ‘za.

If you’re not looking to go too far afield, there’s a Cheesecake Factory, and numerous other restaurants around the Disneyland campus. Mix Restaurant in the Marriott offers New American cuisine and speciality cocktails if you can get a seat.

Places to have a drink:

If you're more of a wine person check out Calavino Wine Pub for a selection of premium wines by the taste or the bottle, choice bites, and relaxing ambience.

Places to have some fun:

Besides being around the corner from Disneyland, the Anaheim Marriott is centrally located, with relatively easy access to a number of attractions. Here’s a few that are worth the trip.

DowntownDisney.jpgDowntown Disney - If you wanna get a taste of Disney but don’t have the time for a trip inside Disneyland, Downtown Disney is your best bet. With loads of restaurants, stores and other attractions, it’s a great spot to spend a few hours soaking in the sun and getting some photos with life-sized cartoon characters.

KnottsBerryFarmFinal.jpg

Knott’s Berry Farm - An old-fashioned amusement park, Knott’s Berry Farm has dozens of rides of all intensities for all ages. It’s just a hop, skip and jump away from the Marriott.

AdventureCityCropped.jpg

Adventure City - Geared towards children younger than 9 years old, Adventure City is the perfect outing if you have kids along for the trip.

OutletsAtOrange.jpg

The Outlets at Orange - If you’re in the mood to do some shopping, look no further than The Outlets at Orange. With everything from Saks Off Fifth and Nordstrom Rack to Penguin, Converse and an AMC movie theater, this outdoor mall is a great place to spend a few hours between sessions.

Anaheim Packing District: With more than 20 eateries, a boardwalk and gardens, the packing district is a great place to stretch your legs, fill your belly and see the best of what Anaheim has to offer.

Getting around:

Uber and Lyft will certainly be available, but if you don’t mind a slightly slower trip, check out Anaheim Resort Transit for a less expensive way to get around Anaheim.

What to pack:

September weather in Anaheim averages highs in the mid 80s and lows in low 60s, so you can leave the sweaters and coats at home.

And don't forget to say hi:

Entelo will be in attendance so be sure to stop by Booth 102 for a demo, some great swag, and thrilling conversation. We’ll see you in Anaheim!

Headed to HR Tech? We built a travel guide for that, too.
