Crunching the Numbers: Why HR Metrics Matter in Performance Management Best Practices

According to IBM, every day we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data and the speed is accelerating so much that 90 per cent of the data in the world today has been created in just the past 2 years. No wonder the term “big data” has dominated the business world and found its way into HR practices.

We know that data is important and that we should collect it. We also know that metrics matter in performance management, but, to paraphrase Einstein, we need to count what really counts. And beyond that, we need to make sure that what we count really impacts business results.
