This is the second year in a row we have been finalists in the same category for the same locations for the HR Vendors Awards

RISQ Group: Building the Best Employment Screening and Verification in APAC Region

Sterling’ strong investment in technology enhancements continues to increase the quality, stability and agility of day-to-day operations while fueling faster, more reliable employment background checks, as well as stronger compliance and security measures for the 80+ million screens completed annually.

One of the key 2016 Sterling acquisitions was the RISQ Group, an industry leader in employment background checks across the Asia-Pacific region. RISQ is widely recognized for high-quality background screening programs and its deep client-centric focus. RISQ operates out of six offices in the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Mainland China. RISQ’s mission is to build the best employment screening and verification offering in the APAC region. Standing behind this mission is a unique combination of innovative thinking and decades of frontline employment screening and verification experience that knows exactly how to best protect organizations throughout the entire employment life cycle. With RISQ Group, the customer knows that it is getting a team of people devoted to delivering the best employment screening and verification available. And it knows that this team is also committed to developing and executing next generation screening and verification technologies that will keep its clients protected and well ahead of the curve.

Innovating New Technologies for the Future of Background Screening

RISQ has developed KNOWN, a verification tool built for the sharing economy, created to enhance trust and transparency. The temporary or contractor worker sector of the economy is growing at a rapid rate and will continue to affect the economies and political systems around the globe. KNOWN employs a badge system that informs the marketplace that a participant has been screened in a particular area (e.g., criminal, licensing, education, etc.). At present, two KNOWN badges, police check and licensing, are being employed by Service Seeking, one of Australia’s largest gig economy companies. RISQ Group is in advanced stage trials with several other platforms. RISQ sees an advantage in developing a localized on-demand economy screening tool like KNOWN with clearly identified badges and a local-point of contact with deep knowledge of regional screening protocols and regulatory frameworks.

In October 2016, Sterling launched a new cloud-based platform, SterlingONE, highlighting simplicity and consistency throughout the candidate and client experience. The cloud-based, proprietary technology platform unifies candidate orders and data into a single, unified workflow so that HR professionals can easily place orders, manage tasks, monitor status and view candidate records.

As the employment background screening industry continues to become more saturated, Sterling is focused on strengthening our core business, while expanding our product, automating manual processes and continually innovating our technology, product, client experience and global offerings. In fact, our client satisfaction scores continue to rise as we embed employment background screening and onboarding needs into clients’ HR workflows through our strong partnership network with our ATS and HRIS partners.

HR Vendors of the Year Awards

The HR Vendors of the Year Awards, organized by Human Resources Online and Evon Yew, the Regional Producer at Human Resources Magazine, is the largest event celebrating achievements by HR solutions providers in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. These awards are highly differentiated from other awards within the industry as the judging is done by human resource leaders within some of the regions’ biggest employers.
