This podcast is part of a series on the Workology Podcast focused on the role and responsibilities of the Chief Human Resources Officer, or CHRO. The CHRO (sometimes called SVP of HR or Chief People Officer) is an executive or C-level role that deals with managing human resources, as well as with organizational development and implementing policies of change to improve the overall efficiency of the company.

Episode 293: HRetreat’s CHRO Panel Highlight

One of the reasons I wanted to do this series is because there is a lot of mystery around the CHRO role. I want aspiring CHRO’s to know what type of skills and experiences they need to promote into a future CHRO role along with hearing from senior HR leadership how they are partnering and collaborating with their executive peers.

This episode is from our most recent HRetreat in May and comes from the CHRO panel discussion. We’ve put together some of the best advice we heard from our panelists during this session, which was moderated by Teresa Sande.

Teresa is passionate about equity in the workplace, healthy corporate cultures, and ensuring people are valued and rewarded for all of their contributions—those seen and unseen. Teresa holds her M.A. in Organizational Effectiveness and Communication and has over 20 years of corporate experience as an executive at companies such as Intel, Capital One, Cargill, and UnitedHealth Group.

In addition to being an accomplished HR executive, Teresa is a consultant, coach, author, and speaker who works with leaders from all walks of life to build the future they want and to realize their vision. Her debut book, Find Your Fierce: Interrupt Imposter Syndrome and Own Your Success, is available for order now!
