They say that the 3 top fears for a human being are public speaking, death and dancing, and it seems they are in that order. As I have worked as a Coach and consultant with many people and also as a manager of teams, I can confirm that public speaking is indeed very threatening for many people.

I have always been a runner, I love it because running does not depend on having a field to play, having a team or getting a bunch of people organized to go play. I dislike it because it requires extreme discipline, nobody is waiting for you, not your team not the other team just the park, the streets, the roads. I love it also because some time ago it gave me one of the best lessons I have had in life: how to stop competing and win!

We have 3 teenagers at home and in spite of having all necessary resources to find answers for their homework they are lazy, or maybe they are smart, they look for the shortest, fastest route to the answer. They ask my wife and if she does not have the answer they ask me, and if I don’t have the answer they ask each other. And only after those unsuccessful attempts to get help they have to do it by themselves and do some research on the internet or books.

Are you really in control? This person really upsets me!” is a very common expression; the anger emotion arises when something or someone gets us off balance. This change from our “not angry” or relaxed state to an “angry” state, I would say, is not perceivable. Of course we know when we. are angry or very angry, but when we are aware we are already beyond the transition point from relaxed to angry.

Muchas veces hemos usado la analogía tiempo-dinero para expresar lo valioso que es el tiempo en nuestras vidas. Cuando nos dicen “el tiempo es dinero”, a mi me hace pensar que cada minuto está costando y entonces debería tener valor lo que hago con él, dejarme algo; es una manera de enfatizar que es muy valioso y que debería usarse sabiamente, productivamente. Pero analicemos con más detalle esta comparación para entender el verdadero valor de estos recursos.

“Esta persona me hace enojar” es una expresión muy común; la emoción del enojo surge según nosotros cuando algo o alguien nos altera. Esta alteración de nuestro estado “no enojado” o tranquilo a “enojado” me atrevo a decir que es imperceptible. Por supuesto sabemos cuando nos enojamos, que estamos enojados o enojadísimos, pero cuando eso sucede ya pasamos el punto de transición de tranquilo a enojado.

¡Se acabo el año! Es la típica expresión que empezamos a escuchar desde noviembre y no se diga en el ultimo mes del año. Elcalendario siempre ha sido una manera importante de medir nuestros ciclos de vida; no solo es responsable de nuestro cumpleaños y aniversarios sino además de múltiples días festivos, estaciones, inicio y fines de cursos, vacaciones veraniegas, etc. En fin marca claramente días, etapas y ciclos. Marca el cambio que es constante inevitable de nuestra vida.
