2023 has (almost) left the building! We have entered Quarter 4 of 2023 which means it is time for another year-end compliance update. 2023 has brought interesting, and sometimes challenging, developments for the background screening industry and for those who use background screening reports. Because of the nature of marijuana legislation, it should not be a surprise that employers must not only comply with newly legalized marijuana, but also overhaul drug screening programs in certain jurisdictions. In addition to marijuana changes, employers must also consider whether new pay transparency and fair chance laws apply to them and determine how to best update their programs. As individuals across the world become more aware of and protective of their personal data, privacy laws play an important role.

In this year-end compliance webinar, we will provide an overview of critical drug screening developments, especially those updates surrounding marijuana legalization and drug testing restrictions. We will also examine the ever-present new laws involving salary transparency as well as recent ban-the-box and fair chance laws. We will provide a refresher on new privacy laws that may impact your company in the coming year and beyond. We will finish our year-end compliance update by reviewing issues that may impact the industry going into 2024 and highlighting trends in background screening that are crucial in maintaining compliant screening programs.
