Reimagining Hiring and Learning with the Power of AI

As the skills required to do our jobs change at a breakneck speed, the role of HR has never been more important, as our CEO, Ryan Roslansky, shared at our 12th annual Talent Connect event this morning. In fact, 90% of HR professionals say their role has become more strategic in the last year.

Managing this change isn’t easy, and HR leaders will need better data and tools to help their organizations adapt to change, on top of building relationships with candidates.

That’s why today we’re piloting new tools like our new release of Recruiter 2024 and LinkedIn Learning’s AI-powered coaching experience to help with some of the heavy lifting so HR professionals can focus on what matters most.

“AI is quickly transforming recruitment, training, and many other HR practices,” says Josh Bersin, industry analyst and CEO of The Josh Bersin Company. “LinkedIn’s new features in Recruiter 2024 and LinkedIn Learning can massively improve recruiter productivity and help all employees build the skills they need to grow in their careers.”

Find qualified candidates faster with our new AI-assisted Recruiter 2024

For talent acquisition leaders, finding qualified candidates fast is the top priority. But getting to that perfect candidate is time consuming and hard — it can require hours of Boolean searches, emails, and follow-up messages. We know that AI can help with some of these tasks — in fact, 80% of global HR professionals believe that AI will be a tool to help them with their work over the next five years.

That’s why we rolled out AI-assisted messages in May and have already seen three-fourths (74%) of recruiters in our early tests say it saves them time. Today we’re beginning to pilot Recruiter 2024, our new AI-assisted recruiting experience that will make hiring easier and more efficient so talent leaders can focus on the most strategic, people-centric work for their jobs.

By pairing generative AI with our unique insights gained from the more than 950 million professionals, 65 million companies, and 40,000 skills on our platform, we’ve reimagined our Recruiter product to help our customers find that short list of qualified candidates — faster.

With the new Recruiter 2024 experience, talent leaders can use natural language and put their hiring goal in their own words like “I want to hire a senior growth marketing leader.” And with generative AI combined with our insights, we can infer the type of candidate the hirer is looking for and provide higher-quality candidate recommendations from a much wider pool of candidates — moving beyond the brand-name companies that have traditionally been the default.

“We aim to ensure exceptional recruiting experiences through innovative solutions, and we are excited to partner with LinkedIn on this journey,” says Markus Kumpf, head of recruiting technology and innovation at Siemens. “We look forward to using new Recruiter 2024 features like the AI search experience to make finding the right candidates easier for our recruiters.”

And with the unique insights our members have shared with us like if they’re open to work and interested in a company because of its values, we can provide real-time, personalized nudges to help expand or modify the search. For example, we can suggest expanding the targeted location, adding the fastest-growing skills based on the role, or recommending if a role should be hybrid — based on the talent in the area.

We’re also launching CRM Connect, an integration that connects LinkedIn Recruiter and Candidate Relationship Management systems to give recruiters a more efficient way to work across both systems. We’re excited to launch it with a few initial partners — Avature, Beamery, Clinch, Jobvite, and Radancy.

Build the skills your business needs for the next decade of work

It’s no longer enough to learn a set of skills once and expect that to last your entire career, and AI is now accelerating the massive upskilling challenge all companies face.

But building a culture of learning that sticks is hard. We’ve been evolving LinkedIn Learning to support learning and development (L&D) teams in doing this better by rolling out career development features and expanding our in-demand skill library, including AI courses that saw a 65% uptick in learners last year. And now with the help of generative AI, we’re giving your teams a new way to access expert knowledge to develop skills that matter.

We know sometimes you have a moment to solve a problem — so we’re testing new ways to make every learner feel like they have access to one of our 3,000+ expert instructors at their fingertips. This starts today with AI-powered coaching in LinkedIn Learning — a chatbot experience that offers both real-time advice and tailored content recommendations all personalized for you based on your job title, your career goal, and the skills you follow.

Starting today, we’re testing out real-time advice in two of the most in-demand skills that apply across all types of jobs: leadership and management. Learners can pose a question like: How can I delegate tasks and responsibility effectively? Instead of giving you a one-size-fits-all answer, it will ask you clarifying questions to more deeply understand your specific situation and experience and then offer advice, examples, and feedback based on hundreds of hours of content from our expert instructors. In the coming months, we’ll explore tailoring chatbots drawing on knowledge and content from specific experts.

Learners can also use this new tool to find the right content they need faster. Instead of browsing and searching, it will curate highly personalized course and video recommendations in seconds showing you exactly where to start.

“I can see a lot of our leadership using this tool because it adds a layer of security when you need guidance but you’re not quite sure how to handle it,” says Joe Antony, senior L&D manager at Coyote Logistics. “I had a few conversations with it about change management, and it was very helpful, very quickly.”

We’ll begin piloting Recruiter 2024 and LinkedIn Learning’s AI-powered coaching to a small handful of customers today, with plans to roll them out to all Recruiter and Learning Hub customers throughout the year.

Today’s updates are just the start of what’s to come. We’re actively building upon these products to support our HR and L&D customers with innovative, valuable tools that will drive their business forward.
