By now, everyone has heard about ChatGPT, Open AI’s popular chatbot. It currently boasts 100 million users.  And why not? It’s a free artificial intelligence tool that’s available to everyone. It gives its users the capability to ask anything, anytime.

Most companies use AI across various business operations, including recruitment.  And when it comes to writing job descriptions, ChatGPT offers valuable tools to assist you in crafting clear, comprehensive, and engaging descriptions. But keep in mind you might need other tools to ensure you’re creating inclusive JDs.

The most significant benefit of using ChatGPT for recruiters is that it can speed up the JD writing process. Typically, recruiters spend 30 minutes to 1-hour crafting job ads.

ChatGPT can generate job descriptions in seconds — from job titles, job overviews, responsibilities, and requirements.

We tested ChatGPT tools to build a job description for a digital marketing manager. Below are the results…then we’ll dive into 10 ChatGPT tools you might use to write JDs.

Job Description Template

You can ask ChatGPT to create a job description template. This template serves as a starting point, outlining the key sections and information to include in the job description, like job title, responsibilities, qualifications, and other relevant details.

ChatGPT noted that the job description template can be customized to fit your organization’s needs and requirements.

  • It’s lacking sections candidates care about like salary and benefits information, DEI statements, work arrangements (hybrid/remote work).

ChatGPT Tools for Recruiters

Though it offers valuable assistance, you should always review and refine the generated content to ensure accuracy, compliance with legal requirements, and alignment with your organization’s needs.

There are also other third-party job description generators powered by ChatGPT.

Here are 5 examples:
