Cutting Hours To Avoid Health Care Coverage Brings Dave & Busters Under Legal Scrutiny

A class-action lawsuit has been filed outside of federal courts in New York against restaurant and gaming chain Dave & Busters. The reason? Cutting employees’ hours to duck mandatory health care coverage. Under the Affordable Care Act, employers with at least 50 full-time or equivalent employees are required to offer health care coverage to those employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week, consider “full time” under the ACA.
