IRS Suspends Mailing of Automatic Notices

The IRS recently announced it is suspending certain mailings of automated collections and various other notices in an effort to get through its current backlog. As such, the agency will no longer be sending out select mail notifications, including CP501, CP503, and CP504 notices. The last notice has previously been used to inform taxpayers of an inability to pay an ACA penalty assessment. .
