There are times when I believe my body hates me, but I have learned over the years to listen. Whenever I am stressed beyond normal, I start having spikes in my blood pressure, I begin having migraines more frequently, and I start focusing on the small stuff instead of living life.

I have noticed that there are indeed secret messages that our brain tells us to get us to slow down. For me, because of the pressure with a job I was in, earlier in the year I had a very mild stroke, trust me, rushing to the hospital because your ears are ringing and you are wobbly is not the best way to let stress build up in your body. It was a warning sign. Often, if you don’t slow down, your body will force you to. I had a difficult time remembering words for simple things for about a week, and thank goodness no other symptoms, I fully healed, however, I left the power job that was causing me not to be myself emotionally and physically; it was a sign that I took very seriously, and I now know the price of not slowing down, taking care of myself, and allowing myself just simply to tune out the world.

I discovered apps for meditation that I use twice a day, I now disconnect from my phone every evening at 9 pm, I go for walks when the weather permits, and I’m back to taking care of myself, and that includes my vitamin packs once more, and yes, I really do believe that they give me not only the nutritional support that I need but give me way more energy than I have without them. I am taking care of my health, my heart, and my inner self, as nurturing the inside is as important as taking care of the outside.

Before starting any regimen, please check with your doctor to be sure you are on the right path. I’m lucky that I have a wonderful physician that listens and works along with me to keep me at my best.
