Too Many Raters in 360 Degree Reviews

Reviewsnap

“More is better!” Well, that’s not always the case when it comes to 360 degree review raters. In preparing to collect feedback from peers, customers, supervisors, or direct reports, you might want to hear from everyone. Unfortunately, too many raters could lead to ratings “averaging out.” That means two things: 1. There might not be anything different between the third person’s rating and the seventh''s. They’ll probably be pretty similar. More raters bring the average scores to the middle.

I tackle projects as soon as they cross my radar, and I go after my to-do list like a woman possessed. I have no idea why I am this way, but I have plenty of other flaws, so please don''t hate me. I know lots of procrastinators. They''re good people, just challenged when it comes to getting things done on time.

Minimum Wage Increases, Lost Jobs, and CEO Pay

True Faith HR

On May 15, Milwaukee fast food workers struck demanding, among other things, an increase in the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Lesson Three from David Zinger Employee Engagement Speaker: 9 Ways to Engage the Audience

David Zinger

A good employee engagement speaker engages. I have been to a lot of conferences and witnessed many presentations on employee engagement. I have spoken on employee engagement on at least 200 occasions. The best presentations engage the attendees with each other and with the topic even in a one hour keynote. We don’t need 100 PowerPoint slides and the speaker rattling off statistics about engagement like an auctioneer voicing bids at an auction.

Bill Watterson , creator of comic series Calvin and Hobbes, gave an inspiring commencement speech at Kenyon College in May 1990 and it made for a very interesting read. Here is an excerpt from this thought-provoking speech: Selling out is usually more a matter of buying in. Sell out, and you’re really buying into someone else’s system of values, rules and rewards. …. Creating a life that reflects your values and satisfies your soul is a rare achievement.
