Now What? Why Continuous Learning Improves Performance

It’s been six months since your latest performance review. You had walked out of your boss’s office with a development plan in hand, and you were ready to get started. And then it got busy. And there was that emergency project. And you suddenly realize you’ve made zero progress on that plan.

5 Steps to Creating Employee Development Plans That Truly Work

A well-thought-out plan provides your employees with opportunities and clear direction on how to increase their skills and advance their careers. And with a more expanded skill set, they have more tools to help your business forge ahead. It’s a win-win for you and your staff. But an employee development plan or program shouldn’t be created off the cuff. Follow these steps to help make sure your employees’ development plans are on point. Step 1: Consider your business goals.

Power to the P2P

Future of Work

Jim Ware. Every once in a while something you thought you understood starts getting more complicated, and more important at the same time. Recently I’ve become more and more fascinated with the power and the impact of peer-to-peer networks, or “P2P.” I believe P2P networks represent a wholly new kind of organizational capability that is distinctively different from, and complementary to, corporate and governmental structures.

Designing Equitable Performance: How to Create Fair, Inclusive Assessments

Speaker: Aubrey Blanche & Sahra Kaboli-Nejad

We are all susceptible to bias and strive to mitigate it through reading, taking classes, and participating in trainings - yet, it seems like these aren’t driving the change we need. Women tend to receive vague, personality-based feedback, where men tend to receive performance related feedback. Work completed by Black men is more likely to be rated as lower quality than White men. And Black women face these overlapping biases in even more extreme ways. So what can we do to address the inequities in the system? Look at the system itself - are we designing an equitable performance system that benefits everyone? Join Culture Amp’s Global Head of Equitable Design and Impact, Aubrey Blanche, along with Diversity, Equity, and Belonging Lead Sahra Kaboli-Nejad, to discuss how we can re-evaluate our performance management systems. We will discuss the benefits of designing a system at every level (individual, manager, and organization) to help mitigate bias and ultimately create a system that finally succeeds at what it is supposed to do - improve performance.

David Zinger

Employee Engagement and Employee Voice. I am in London today for the Engage for Success event this afternoon. My wife and I are staying in central London on Charing Cross Road. It is a brilliant location in the heart of the theatre district but it is also a very busy area. After long sleep deprived travel I was jolted out of sleep last night by the loud drunken voices of people leaving the pubs and bars in the area.

Strategies for Recruiting Success: Initial Contact and Communication is Critical

Hospital Recruiting

As a strategy for physician recruiting success , the first rule of thumb is to make initial contact with new candidates as quickly as possible. These days most physician job searches begin with online job boards. Many of these job boards will distribute a physician’s contact information to dozens, or perhaps hundreds, of competing recruiting firms and in-house recruiters. If you are not among the initial responders, the candidate might never get to hear your presentation.
