How to Stay in Touch with Clients through Email Campaigns

While it may not be the latest and greatest form of communication in HR technology, email is still a useful tool for recruiters.

There are many different ways you can create an effective email campaign to stay in touch with your clients.

Create a Newsletter

If you don’t already have a company newsletter, it’s time to create one.  Newsletters are great ways for you to share industry news as well as what is going on in your business.

Your newsletter should be brief, informative, and easy to access.  Being able to email a pdf version of your newsletter or even a weblink to your newsletter is a great way to stay memorable with your clients while providing them with valuable information that they can access at ease.

Provide Notice of Special Events

Make sure that you are notifying your clients of any special events that are going on in your business.  If you are conducting a job fair, attending any conferences, or even just taking part in a charitable event, be sure to notify your clients of these activities via email through your newsletter or other notices.

Direct Market Candidates

All recruiters have a few top notch candidates that just don’t fit the bill for any current openings.  If you have a solid candidate who would be a great fit for one of your clients, make sure that you notify this client.

Direct marketing campaigns are an excellent way for you to utilize email in order to let your clients know of the top talent you have waiting in the wings.

Send Surveys

Ask your clients what they think about your services.  Send surveys to your clients via email to check for their satisfaction with the recruiting process, interviewing process, and placement satisfaction.

You will learn so much from these surveys and be able to focus on key areas of improvement when it comes to perfecting your recruiting strategy.

Check Failed Email Deliveries

When using email to reach out to your clients, it’s important that you pay attention to any failed email deliveries.

If you receive a bounce-back from one of your hiring managers, then this is a great notification that something has changed with your client.  This gives you the opportunity to find out if your contact is still with the company and who you should be in communication with moving forward.

Include an Opt-Out Link

No matter what, you need to give your clients the chance to opt-out of your email campaigns if they no longer wish to receive them.  Be sure that you have included a way for your clients to communicate if they no longer wish to receive certain emails.

How have you made the most of your email campaigns in the past?
