Highly productive leaders understand that the key to success lies in how they manage their time and energy. To achieve this, they establish daily habits that can make all the difference. These habits are not just simple gestures but rather strategies that support their productivity, creativity and resilience. In this article, discover six habits of effective leaders and how you can apply them to transform your daily life.

1. Plan your day.

One of the habits of leaders to boost their productivity is to plan their day in advance. They categorize tasks and prioritize those that are important and urgent. Highly productive leaders remain focused on these tasks and know how to delegate non-important but urgent tasks.

To stay focused on a specific task, consider turning off all distractions (phone, notifications). This way, your productivity will skyrocket. For instance, in my work as a real estate investment coach, I prioritize supporting my coachees. I schedule this time dedicated to my coachees in advance, knowing that when they face an opportunity, they need a quick assessment to not miss out on a lucrative deal. During this time, I focus solely on analyzing their project. By doing so, I ensure that the analysis is conducted correctly, preventing a misjudgment of the situation. A single mistake can cost an investor thousands of dollars.

2. Engage in continuous learning.

Highly productive leaders place great importance on continuous learning. This allows them to improve their skills and quickly adapt to changes and new trends. Adaptability is crucial in today's context. There are many ways to learn: reading books, taking courses, networking with experts; the learning opportunities are endless. For example, you can dedicate one hour of reading time every day to study a subject in depth.

3. Be flexible and open to feedback.

Even if everything has been planned, productive leaders remain open to adjustments along the way. If new tasks arise or priorities change, they are ready to reevaluate and adjust their initial plan accordingly. This quality is essential for progressing in the right direction.

This was the case when I had to adapt my coaching program to new demands, as banks became stricter due to new debt regulations. As banks began granting less financing, I oriented my program toward bank financing to help coachees secure a loan despite this new context.

4. Monitor goals.

Productive leaders allocate time for daily tracking of their objectives. This allows them to take concrete measures as soon as they realize their actions are not suitable. Identifying what worked and what could be improved facilitates a quick adjustment of their approach and avoids wasting time.

I apply this principle with my coachees to maintain their motivation. Regular monitoring of their progress fosters their commitment and allows them to see the progress they've made. In real estate, every step counts, and it's essential to celebrate every small victory because one doesn't become a successful investor overnight.

5. Communicate effectively.

Communication is vital for leaders. Without clear and transparent communication, there will be no trust within the team. It's a necessary tool for facilitating collaboration and problem-solving. Effective leaders prioritize open communication by encouraging ideas and feedback from their team. They value personal interactions with the team, clients and partners.

It's also essential to adapt your style depending on who you're interacting with. In your team, some people might prefer step-by-step guidance, while others might prefer working independently. This was the case with one of my coachees, who prefers working on his own. He shows me the results once he's found something, and that's when he needs my assistance. Other coachees, on the other hand, prefer more in-depth guidance.

6. Take care of yourself.

Physical and mental well-being is essential for staying in shape. To maintain their energy, highly productive leaders have a wellness routine. Some leaders recommend a morning routine to start the day right. This could be yoga, meditation or regular exercise. These practices can help reduce stress, improve concentration and foster a positive attitude. Coupled with a balanced diet and good sleep, they help ensure overall good health, allowing them to maintain their productivity at its peak.

In conclusion, productivity doesn't happen by chance; highly productive leaders understand this. They've developed habits that have led them to reach their full potential. It's essential to reiterate that change doesn't happen overnight. Integrating a new habit can take time. But even a small change can make a difference in your mental and physical condition. The goal isn't to achieve perfection but to be in a state of continuous progress.
