At Thrive Global, in honor of International Women’s Day, we’re inviting women business leaders to share how they Thrive.

Thrive Global: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received about prioritizing your health and well-being?

Julie Loeger: Stick to the basics; fresh foods, portion control and quality sleep make a huge difference. Always keep active both mentally and physically, and most importantly, spice it up! Don’t get stuck in the day to day.

TG: What’s the best advice that you would give women about preventing burnout?

JL: Use your vacation time and always have interests outside of work. Also, make the effort to maintain strong friendships — it will pay off in the long run.

TG: What’s important in your life outside of work? What helps you thrive? With a demanding schedule, how do you make time for these important things?

JL: Spending quality time with family and friends. You have to be selective with your time and always try new things — quality over quantity always!

TG: How do you reframe negative thinking so you can feel “unstuck” and move forward?

JL: Get negative thoughts out of your mind as quickly as possible and replace them with positive thoughts. If that doesn’t work, try to understand the root cause of your thoughts and figure out a way to address and resolve… and if all else fails, have a big glass of wine and binge watch your favorite show.
