International Women’s Day 2021; How Companies Have Celebrated Differently?

The world is not how it used to be 50 years ago, and it will be changing every moment with every new revelation.

And so do women’s lives and their part in this society.

Their contribution to the improvement of the civilization has always been prominent, and their roles are ever-expanding. The true potential of women is being unleashed, breaking the barriers built centuries ago. UN has chosen to have “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world,” as its theme for International Women’s Day, March 8, 2021.

Companies, even in this current scenario, do their best to exhibit how much they cherish their women employees and encourage more women to take up competitive and greater roles. As the businesses are still in the thought process of whether to open up or not and also skeptical about the COVID situation in the countries, they could not celebrate Women’s day like previous years.

Many LinkedIn users and companies like #Synergita have shared throwback posts and expressed their nostalgic emotions.

And they did not stop with that. The companies conducted events virtually to celebrate their women population, and also made some thoughtful arrangements to remind the netizens about the upcoming women’s day, even a week earlier. They created posts and contests to increase the engagement rate of the women audience.

#Fonzel and #Benepik created a contest, where the viewers are supposed to tag the inspiring woman they know in the comment section, and the page will announce the winners on the Women’s day. This is the well-thought strategy to enhance the employee experience and keep more women audience active on the page.

March 8 is really a special day to all the women out there! Women, even at a place where they are not given much importance, will feel their words heard and contribution appreciated on this International day. The encouragement that spreads across the internet, magazines, and newspapers makes women realize their true worth and huge role in society, family, business, and even space.

Many organizations like #GalaxySurfactantsLimited and #ManningGlobalAG have created heartwarming videos with their employees. The female employees share their experiences and tips to overcome challenges in balancing the professional and personal lives. Manning Global AG’s Sarah Johnson says, “When one woman wins, we all do.”

Even male employees have joined the campaign and UN’s mission to bring about gender equality and create a better COVID and post COVID world for women employees. #choosetochallenge campaign aims to challenge the bias and gender disparity as it strongly reckons that challenging an obstacle removes it and brings a change in shaping the future’s thoughts.

#DSGroup celebrated its women’s day by showcasing its inclusive culture and male employees standing for women’s equal rights. The video is created in an office atmosphere with all the precautionary measures in place. #Pepper, a content company, posted a riddle on LinkedIn, where the answer to the riddle shows the sexism in our language and society. They involved their employees in creating the riddle video to make the viewers realize the bitter truth.

#AmbitFinvest has sent cakes to its women employees as a surprise gift, and a LinkedIn user working in the company has shared it on her social media and captioned it with her emotions while seeing the gift and her children’s excitement. The company has proved that great things are not needed to make your employees happy, just little things can boost their morale. #Synergita has also gifted a pack of Ferrero Rocher to the women workforce.

The virtual environment has not stopped the companies and employees from celebrating Women’s day; in fact, it has provided an effective way to communicate, greet, and cherish. This day has not only made the netizens realize the importance of women but also technology and digitized workspaces. The world never stops, but it adapts and adopts to evolve incessantly.
