Friday March 3rd is celebrated worldwide as Employee Appreciation Day. It is to be celebrated on the first friday of March every year.

What is Employee Appreciation Day?

As per wikipedia ” It is a day for companies to thank their employees for their hard work and effort throughout the year. This day was created for the purpose of strengthening the bond between employer and employee”.

You will find articles in Forbes and other magazines give you tips on how to celebrate Employee Appreciation Day with lunch or gifts or some adventure experience etc. Do you think that by doing this on one day of the year promotes strong bond between the employer and the employee? 67% of the workforce quit because they don’t feel appreciated. So doing it on one day is not going to solve the problem.

Employee appreciation and recognition has to be instant and on the spot. Only then employees feel motivated to deliver their best. It has to be built into the culture of the organization.Employee appreciation and recognition always doesn’t have to be top down in the current days of teamwork.
