Workhuman was acknowledged for the first time in the large company category at the 19th annual Great Place to Work Best Workplaces in Ireland awards in the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road, Dublin on Wednesday 26 February 2020. This marks the eighth year in a row that Workhuman has been recognised as a top Irish workplace, which is assessed through Great Place to Work’s robust ‘Trust Index©’ employee survey and a thorough ‘Culture Audit©’ assessment of its policies and practices.
Workhuman was also named as one of the Best Workplaces for WomenOpens in a new tab, a new category for 2019. The award recognises organisations which create positive and supportive workplaces for women in particular. These companies provide a platform for women to flourish by contributing their talents while allowing them to develop both personally and professionally.
Niamh Graham, Vice President of Global HR at Workhuman, said: “Reflecting our phenomenal growth as an organisation in the last year, we are thrilled to receive this accolade as one of the best workplaces in Ireland. After coming first in the medium-sized company category last year, this year our continued expansion puts us in the large-sized category for the first time. It is a great achievement to place so highly in our first year in this category. As a company that prides ourselves on diversity and inclusion, it is particularly pleasing to be named one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces for Women.”
Eric Mosley, CEO, Workhuman, said: “This acknowledgement of Workhuman as a great place to work is due to our incredible people at our Park West base and is testament to our investment in a culture of inclusion and celebration. Through our technology, we help organisations all over the world create better cultures, and we are no different ourselves in using our platform to foster the power of gratitude and human connection. At Workhuman, we practice what we preach and awards like this are a testament that embracing social recognition and continuous performance management creates truly great workplaces.”
Workhuman is an Irish-American software company which develops pioneering technology to make employees feel more appreciated and socially connected at work for some of the world’s largest, most admired companies including LinkedIn, Procter & Gamble, Merck, Cisco, and Eaton.
In 2019, Workhuman continued to add to its client base, catering to more than 4.5 million employees worldwide on its platform. Following the creation of more than 170 new jobs and the opening of its newly expanded €4m headquarters in Dublin last year, Workhuman now has more than 600 employees across the United States and Dublin.
“Strong economic conditions have resulted in another record year for total number of employees participating in the Best Workplaces in Ireland process. The ‘war for talent’ is continuing apace with the best employers in Ireland competing for specific industry-critical skills, while a range of external social pressures are forcing organisations to develop innovative initiatives to help alleviate burdens faced by their employees” said Cathal Divilly, Partner at Great Place to Work® Ireland.

About Great Place to Work® and the Assessment Process
Great Place to Work Ireland is part of a global network of culture consultants, with offices in 48 countries using an established methodology to publish lists at country, regional, and global levels. The best known of these is the Fortune 100 list of Best Companies to Work For in the United States. Our media partner in Ireland is The Irish Times, which develop the annual Best Workplaces Special Report.
The key defining feature of a great workplace is the level of trust that exists within it. From an employee’s viewpoint, the definition of a great workplace is one where you trust the people you work with, you have great pride in what you do, and you enjoy the people you work with. The Great Place to Work Institute assesses the policies and practices in place in organisations under nine key areas: Inspiring, Speaking, Listening, Caring, Developing, Thanking, Hiring, Celebrating, and Sharing. It then benchmarks these practices against other organisations in that country. The second key component of the assessment is an anonymous Trust Index survey that gathers the perceptions of employees under five dimensions: Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride, and Camaraderie. Finally, there is an in-depth qualitative analysis of open-ended comments from employees.
