5 Things You’ll Learn from The 2022 UKG Global Impact Report

Team with heads together

Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) is core to the work we do every day at UKG and ties directly to our purpose: people. We know that our commitment to ESG will only enhance the culture we create for our U Krewers, the experience we create for our customers, and the support we provide to our communities around the world.

We all work every day to make a difference — in the world of work and across the world in which we work.

The 2022 UKG Global Impact Report clearly lays out our ESG strategies, metrics, and performance for the period of January 1 – December 31, 2022. It’s an important statement on our efforts and progress supporting our commitments to our employees, our customers, and our communities.

Let’s take a closer look at what you’ll learn from reading the 2022 UKG Global Impact Report.

5 Things You’ll Learn from The 2022 UKG Global Impact Report

1. Our approach to ESG

ESG refers to the environmental, social, and governance factors used to evaluate a company’s impact on society.

The UKG ESG program coordinates the activities we manage and implement in support of our commitments, identifies opportunities for UKG to grow and strengthen our contributions, and demonstrates the positive impacts we make through measurable progress and tangible results.

With a commitment to transparency and oversight, we incorporate ESG thinking with our overall business strategy and leverage the expertise of leaders throughout UKG via a robust governance structure. We also invite people from all corners of our company to engage in the program — because we know that people with varied personalities, backgrounds, abilities, and skills bring different perspectives, and that including and listening to all perspectives leads to better results.

2. Our commitments

UKG conducts a global materiality assessment every two years, in partnership with an independent third-party provider, to ensure that we remain focused on the areas most aligned to our ability to contribute and demonstrate impact. Our inaugural assessment took place in 2021. The results from the assessment helped define these areas of strategic focus listed in the graphic below.

2022 Global Impact Report ESG Priorities

In each of these focus areas, we established a comprehensive set of targets, both for the near and long term, with emphasis on:

In 2022, UKG developed ESG targets, aligned with United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where we are best positioned to contribute. These forward-thinking targets are ambitious but realistic, and we hold ourselves accountable to make progress, achieve, or surpass each pillar as committed.

We know that transparency is critical to building trust. That’s why, in the 2022 UKG Global Impact Report, we announce our ESG goals and targets, publicly committing UKG to make informed, responsible, and socially conscious decisions by incorporating ESG criteria into how we work.

3. Our progress

We are proud of the progress we’ve made in developing our program and continuing to increase our ESG commitments across the board. Highlights are shown in the graphic below.

2022 ESG Highlights

We firmly believe in doing right by doing good — for our employees, our customers, and our communities. We aim to contribute to a brighter, more positive, and socially responsible future through our robust ESG and social impact programs.

4. Our standards alignment

We have aligned our efforts with several accepted frameworks and standards to measure and track our ESG progress. In our latest report, we introduced several new alignments, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) — the most referenced ESG framework across all industries.

By framing our efforts against these widely known standards, we allow our stakeholders (employees, customers, partners, and the world at large) to evaluate UKG according to common criteria.

These disclosures are complemented by our alignment with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), an industry-specific standard that introduces a financial lens to business decision-making and impact around ESG. In our Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TFCD) index, we utilize the framework provided to highlight the governance, strategy, risk management, and measurements and targets associated with the climate-related risks and opportunities for our business.

Most recently, UKG became a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and developed an index corresponding to our progress in implementing the Ten Principles of the UNGC.

Our targets (mentioned above) are a direct result of this alignment to demonstrate our commitment to transparency and frequent communication on our impacts.

5. Our future

While we are proud of our progress outlined in the 2022 UKG Global Impact Report, we know our journey is ongoing. Improving the world in which we live and work is a collective responsibility.

At UKG, we’re invigorated by our mission and remain focused on our material areas of impact that tie directly to our purpose: people. We plan to publish the UKG Global Impact Report annually, and continue to measure and report on our progress against our targets.
