EVERFI in Chicago Public Schools

Approach – A strategy rooted in collaboration with Chicago public schools

Working with the district’s Financial Education Specialist, EVERFI’s District Support team aligned its 15 free personal finance resources to Chicago’s curriculum maps providing teachers with creative and engaging supplemental lessons.

Through regular communication and data reporting, EVERFI provided CPS with updates on usage and impact, teacher trainings, exclusive scholarships, and events as well as newsletters to spread word about the opportunities throughout the district.
As EVERFI proved itself to be a valuable partner, Chicago Public Schools began expanding its financial literacy resources to elementary and middle schools.

Impact – Setting standards for financial literacy

The thoughtful and coordinated implementation of EVERFI’s free personal finance resources ensured that Chicago Public School teachers had the tools, training, and on-going support needed for students to meet their graduation requirements.

With average resource learning gains ranging from 22-53%, the 21,987 students that used EVERFI’s personal finance resources built a foundational knowledge and skill set sure to last a lifetime.
