On February 9, 2024, a California Court of Appeal ordered a lower court to vacate its ruling delaying enforcement of the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) regulations — a ruling the lower court issued in the summer of 2023. As such, the Court of Appeal ordered the lower court to vacate its order.

Attorney General Investigates California Employers’ CCPA Compliance

As previously reported , the CCPA went into effect January 1, 2023, and among other things, brought previously exempted employment-related information within the privacy law’s scope. As a reminder, the CPPA can enforce the CCPA provisions already in effect — but it can’t yet enforce the CPRA regulations that took effect March 29, 2023.
