We want to take a moment to recognize Jacqueline for her accomplishments in employee engagement. Below, she answers a series of questions, providing advice for fellow HR professionals and sharing her personal story. What interested you in a career in HR? It can be said that recognition means most coming from the people who are impacted by the behavior, but more often than not, administering and maintaining a recognition program falls on the shoulders of HR and management. FedEx is a company that is doing employeerecognition right. HR doesn’t do the recognizing.
While leading organizations are aware of the problem and are actively seeking solutions, many are not seeing a good return on their engagement investments. As customer training manager at Achievers, I often work with organizations who are excited and committed to improving employee engagement, but they don’t really know where to start.
In 2002, LinkedIn came around and allowed an easier way for employees and employers to use their social networks to find each other. The new employee wants purpose and alignment to the company mission that can be amplified through every employee, not just top-down. HR “best” practices are blowing up all around us.

However, 20% of LGBTQ+ Americans have experienced discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity when applying for jobs, which jumps up to 32% for LGBTQ+ folks who are people of color. Unsurprisingly, LGBTQ+ employees can feel wary about even mentioning a same-gender or nonbinary partner. heteronormative worldview.
Performance Tracking Tools. It helps organizations establish employee performance standards and enables managers to evaluate employees’ job performance in relation to these standards. Performance management systems are used to manage employee progress, performance, and development in relation to organizational goals.
