If you haven’t seen it, there’s an interesting article in The New York Times titled, “ Generation Grumpy: Why You May Be Unhappy if You’re Around 50 ”. The article talks about how people usually become more mellow with age BUT not the current group of middle aged Americans (aka the “Grumpy Middle”). My take from the article is that this group of people missed out on their peak income earning years because of economic downturns like the Great Recession and the growing wealth gap.

My boss really stresses the importance of having vacations from work, which is great. I get 10 days of vacation each year (this is my first job out of undergrad so I’m not certain whether this is a good amount or not).
